Question:
I have a freshly reset bios, a potentially broken harddrive and only an xp pro disk. Do you recommend that I need other drivers to install a used formatted harddrive onto my laptop or should I win xp pro grab it. Do you know if all laptops need drivers to run the hardrives in them if their new or formatted (after bios reset)?

Generally speaking, you don’t usually need additional drivers for your hard drive. However, newer computers that use SATA hard drives do require drivers for Windows XP. If your laptop originally came with XP, I’d say you’re safe. You should be able to just pop in the new dive and install Windows XP without any issue.
